Introduction / History

The Bende people originated in Cameroon, but they now live further east in Tanzania. They once wore animal skins; today they wear Western clothes.

What Are Their Lives Like?

Marriage is so important to the Bende that they consider it inappropriate to not be marriage. The Bende people have music that is for cleansing the soul or chasing away spirits.

What Are Their Beliefs?

Roughly half the Bende people are Muslim, and half are Christian.

What Are Their Needs?

The Bende people need a full Bible in their language. It would be great if they also had oral Christian materials as well.

Prayer Points

Pray for Christian believers to produce soul-cleansing music that honors Christ.

Pray for a complete Bible and radio broadcasts in the Bende language.

Pray for them to have a thirst for righteousness that will draw them to the cross and the empty grave.

Pray for Bende disciples to make more disciples.
