Introduction / History

The Bomboko are also known as Mboko. They are part of the Sawa peoples who live on the coast The Bomboko moved to Mboko in the early 1600s. They live in Cameroon and speak Wumboko.

They are farmers who grow plantains, maize, manioc and oil palms.

What Are Their Beliefs?

About two-thirds of the Bombokos are Christians, but they hold onto certain beliefs that pre-date Christianity.

The Bomboko people need more schools and medical facilities.
