Introduction / History

The Carabayo people are also called Aroje and speak the Carabayo language. Macusa is a term that is connected to local languages. Carabayo is a mocking name that was given to them.

They live in the region of Rio Pur National Park which they share with two other tribes. It is located in the southeast of Colombia in the Colombian Amazon rainforest near Brazil. The Park is protected.
