The Coreguaje name means meaning Children of the Earth . They live by the river banks of the Ortegueza near the Colombian Amazon in the Andean foothills. They speak their own language by the same name.

They get their food from farming, hunting, and fishing. The Coreguajes keep their culture alive through oral traditions.
