The Coreguaje name means meaning Children of the Earth . They live by the river banks of the Ortegueza near the Colombian Amazon in the Andean foothills. They speak their own language by the same name.
They get their food from farming, hunting, and fishing. The Coreguajes keep their culture alive through oral traditions.
The Coreguaje have their own traditional spiritual customs and rituals. They also have a strong Christian presence through both the Roman Catholic and Evangelical traditions.
Like most people in this region, the Coreguajes need protection. They are vulnerable to mining and rubber interests. They can easily be driven off their lands by foreign companies.
Pray for the Lord to provide safety and justice for the Coreguaje as a testimony of his goodness and power.
Pray for Coreguaje family leaders to put Jesus first and teach their children to do the same.
Pray for Coreguaje disciples to disciple others.
Pray for Coreguaje churches to exhibit the fruit of the Holy Spirit, drawing others to the Lord.
