Introduction / History

The lives of these people center around subsistence farming in steep mountainous terrain and lush green valleys. The people are short and stout, very fit from their way of life. It is nothing to see a 10 year old child carrying 20 liters of water hundreds of meters up the mountains. They are peaceful, friendly and welcoming, happy to share the little they have with anyone in need.

What Are Their Beliefs?

Witchcraft seems to play a role with the less educated.

What Are Their Needs?

I think the main things they require are quality education and freedom from corruption.
With those two things change would be a natural progression. Sadly greed and corruption sees very little help come their way. On May 1, 2013 the Nyamwanba River flooded, destroying many homes and lives at Kilembe. It was weeks before any government assistance. A truckload of flour, mattresses, blankets and other supplies sent to help was sadly stolen by those in positions of power.
