Introduction / History

The Nkhumbi, along with three other tribes, live in the dry savannas of southwestern Angola.

What Are Their Lives Like?

The Nkhumbi are a pastoral people. This affects everything in their lives. They also farm, but this is far less important than tending cattle. Their diet is based on meat and milk, but they sometimes find wild roots and fruit to eat. Their social structure, their rituals and everything else has to do with cattle.

What Are Their Beliefs?

The Nkhumbi people hold to their own traditional religion. They depend on the spirit world, even though they are officially Roman Catholic.

What Are Their Needs?

The Nkhumbi people would thrive if they had adequate clean water. Those who wanted to minister to them could do so by helping them bore wells for clean water.

Prayer Points

Pray for people with the right skills to go to the Nkhumbi people in Angola.
Pray for a spiritual revival in Angola s Catholic Church that will turn their hearts to Jesus Christ, the only savior.
Pray that soon Nkhumbi disciples will be discipling others.
