Introduction / History

Reunion is a French-based Creole language spoken in the Comoros, Madagascar and Reunion. Roughly speaking, a Creole language includes words and sometimes grammatical forms from other languages. Reunionese Creole is the main language in Reunion. French is the language of writing, education and government, but the Creole language is for informal use.
