What Are Their Lives Like?

The Madgi people primarily engage in agriculture, cultivating crops such as rice, wheat and various pulses. Many also rely on forest resources, collecting and selling non-timber products like honey, medicinal plants and bamboo. Their villages consist of small, closely-knit communities where family ties play a central role. Houses are typically made from locally sourced materials like mud and thatch. Education remains a challenge, with many children unable to attend school regularly due to economic constraints. Healthcare access is also limited, particularly in more remote areas, leading to reliance on traditional medicine.

What Are Their Beliefs?

The Madgi people practice a mix of Hinduism and traditional animist beliefs. They worship a variety of Hindu deities while also revering spirits associated with nature, such as those believed to inhabit trees, rivers, and mountains. Pray that prominent members of the Madgi people will respond with child-like faith when they hear the gospel and use their influence to take his name to others in their community.
Pray that the Holy Spirit will move among entire families and clans, so that the blessings of the Kingdom will be enjoyed by them.
Pray that the Lord would meet the needs of this people group and that they will soon recognize their provider to be Jehovah Jirah.
Pray that the Lord would provide them not only with daily bread, but with the Bread of Life, Jesus Christ.
