Introduction / History

The Fanda people live in nine villages in Dilling County located in the remote Nuba Mountains in the state of South Kordofan, Sudan. They speak Nding and Sudanese Arabic.

What Are Their Lives Like?

They cultivate sorghum and corn and raise cattle, sheep, and goats. During and after the rainy season the Fanda people have special access to fresh cow’s milk, which they drink hot fresh off charcoal fires.

What Are Their Beliefs?

The Fanda people are entirely Muslim.

What Are Their Needs?

They have no known schools or health care facilities.
