Introduction / History

The Jangam are a community of Muslim converts from Hinduism living in Pakistan.

What Are Their Lives Like?

This is mainly a weaving community that produces baskets and mats. In their spare time the Jangam people play music using the dholak and harmonium. They have colorful processions which reflect their Hindu past.

What Are Their Beliefs?

Though they are Muslim, the Jangam have maintained many of their ancient Hindu religious traditions. They are fond of mysticism, thus many follow the Sufi form of Islam.

What Are Their Needs?

Like all other peoples of the world, this people group needs the blessings and guidance that only Jesus Christ can offer.

Prayer Points

Pray for the Lord to bless this community economically and spiritually.

Ask God to raise up Jangam who are more desirous to know the truth than to stay on the broad road.

Ask God to send loving, committed workers to the Jangam in the near future.

Pray the Jangam would no longer be hidden away from the influence of Christ.

Pray for many of them to make disciples who will make even more disciples.
