Introduction / History

In most cases Gulf Arabs have no need to leave their countries to live somewhere else as they are well provided for and so there are not many of them living in America. After World War II, many of the students from Gulf Arab countries came to America for higher education.

What Are Their Lives Like?

The Gulf Arabs in America speak Arabic and English. Many live in California. Saudi Americans live in California or Washington. They tend to marry other Saudis so there are very few cases of Saudis marrying Americans. They like to eat Saudi food. Saudi male students tend to wear western clothes. Women dress in Islamic style.
Many Kuwaitis come to America as students and then go home. Emiratis from the United Arab Emirates come to America as students.
With the Yemenis, there are more of them living in America than there are of these other Gulf Arab peoples. Yemen is much poorer than the other Gulf Arab countries and has political trouble. Yemenis live in New York, also in Michigan where many work in trades, as well as living in California.

What Are Their Beliefs?

Almost all Gulf Arabs in the United States are Sunni Muslims. Very few would dare to sway from what they have been taught all their lives.

What Are Their Needs?

Gulf Arabs in the United States are in a place where there is freedom of religion, and they can hear and respond to the life-saving gospel. When they return to their place of birth, they will no longer have that freedom. If even a couple of them embraced the savior and shared his ways with their families and friends, it could make a difference.

Prayer Points

Pray that as the Gulf Arabs read the Koran about Jesus, they will want to know more about him, read the Bible and give their lives to Jesus Christ.
Pray that God will give them dreams and visions leading them to put their faith in Jesus Christ.
Pray for Americans who love the Lord to make a point of sharing Jesus with Gulf Arabs.
